Acaena saccaticupula ‘Blue Haze’ – Blue-Tinged New Zealand Burr

Description

This New Zealand Burr has great color and texture for the miniature garden bed. The blue-green foliage is very handsome with the tiny serrated leaves. It’s evergreen too (- meaning it doesn’t die back in winter.)

The tiny pompom-like flowers will pop out of the foliage in June/July. The flowers turn into wee mahogany-red burs that are the seedpods. Trim these off if you are using this as a step-able plant.

• Small, spheres of flowers in June & July
• 2″ to 4″ high
• Spreading, trim back runners to control it in the mini garden bed

• Cold hardy zones 6 – 9 to -10F
• Heat hardy zones 9 – 7

• Part shade
• Well drained soil
• Regular water but let soil dry out to damp between watering if in a pot
• Pot is 4″ wide
• An outdoor plant
